Our ultimate motivation lies in working with existing spaces. When given the opportunity to transform a neglected, degraded area into something new, we uncover its full potential and breathe new life into what was once considered a dead space. This project involved renovating around 20 rooms for 65 staff members, including a revamped pantry, bathing facilities, and shared dormitory rooms, all of which were infused with renewed energy.
We opened up small existing windows to allow natural light and improve ventilation, enhancing the overall atmosphere. The original marble flooring was repolished and repaired, while the individual rooms were reconfigured to improve airflow and give each one a distinct, stronger character. With a minimal budget and a focus on practicality over luxury, we created an environment that fosters a sense of friendliness and belonging—transforming the space into a temporary home where the staff can truly identify with their surroundings.
