Having been involved in the manufacturing of industrial pipes for two generations, Sabar Pipes & Pumps, a family business, established their industrial park in the southern region of Sanand, India.
As their business grew, the need for appropriate architectural representation became apparent. As architects, our goal was to develop a design language that was subtle yet impactful, functional yet unconventional.
The fundamental structure of the design comprises rigid blocks that are diagonally cut and opened up through distinctive windows. The foundational and functional layer is enhanced by a roof that gracefully swings and delicately balances on stilts, seemingly dancing alongside the roof itself. The stilts, resembling a veil, create a captivating interplay of light and shadow, introducing a dynamic element to the gatehouse.
